:dateline:The ultimatum served by Panj Pyares (the five beloved of Guru) of Akal Takht Sahib to dismiss the Takht Jathedars byJanuary 2, has pushed the SGPC President Avtar Makkar into a flurry of activity.
While calling a meeting of the SGPC executives to find a solution tothe situation,Avtar Makkar has started challenging the existence of Panj Pyares and has even said in an interview published in Hindustan Times that the duty of Panj Pyares is only baptism and they need to work under SGPC. He has said that there are three types of Panj Pyare at the Akal Takht Sahib. The first performs baptism, second leads religious processions and the third type attends religious programs.
The sheer arrogance and shamelessness of this wretch ‘Makkar’ to think he can overturn the value of the Panj Pyare! Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself has stated in 1699 that whenever 5 good, honest and true Sikhs (Khalsa) are gathered then His very spirit is with them – that is the essence of the Panj Pyare and their relationship ot the sangat. Makkar wants to relegate and denigrate their spiritual authority to make them nothing more than honourary positions within the Panth. This stupid corrupt old man (who did afford that chunky gold bling of a watch he is shaking in the picture on a sevadar’s salary exactly?) does not even understand the concept of Miri Piri which demands that temporal authority goes with spiritual authority so the Panj Pyare outrank him and his unelected, unrepresentative bunch of blaspheming mahants. It’s thanks to him and his sullied SGPC that we have Jathedars playing candy crunch sitting before Guru Granth Sahib Ji – Makkar is dishonourable and discredited but no doubt will not leave with any dignity until his Hinduvadta puppet masters realise he is damaged goods. Fortunately he is an old man and although he has no belief in Waheguru (let alone fear for his behaviour) his day of reckoning before God will come and he can try to explain to Waheguru where he got that black money for those gold spectacles and watch.
