STOCKTON, CA, USA—The management committee of historical Stockton Gurdwara Sahib has appealed to Ragi Jathas, Dhadis and Katha Vachaks to attend Sarbat Khalsa.
In a press note issued earlier today, the committee put forth a strong appeal to all parchariks to understand their duty and make Sarbat Khalsa call successful.
“It is the duty of all parchariks of the Panth to support Sarbat Khalsa. Sikh Sangat living worldwide has great hopes from eminent Panthik parchariks and we hope to see their representation at the Sarbat Khalsa,” said Bhai Daljit Singh, the general secretary of Stockton Gurdwara Sahib. He added, “It would be great disappointment for Sikh diaspora if our parchariks fail to show up. We will definitely question them [on their lack of support] on Sarbat Khalsa when they come to Stockton.”
Bhai Daljit Singh mentioned that he has been speaking daily with Sikh parchariks since past week to gather their support. He said that the Gurdwara Sahib doesn’t have any affiliation with any political party, however he feels that Sarbat Khalsa is the need of the hour and every Sikh must attend.
The Stockton Gurdwara Sahib has been at the forefront of gathering support for Sarbat Khalsa. The committee had earlier organized a meeting of over 100 Gurdwaras and Sikh organizations in Yuba City to discuss Sarbat Khalsa in details. It has also sent a delegation to attend Sarbat Khalsa taking place on November 10.
