AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—In a press conference at Amritsar Sahib, Simranjit Singh Mann has rejected the objections being made by the SGPC, Akali Dal (Badal), Akal Takht Jathedar and Sant Samaj about the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ going to be held on November 10.

Appealing Sikh masses to remain aware of the false statements being shared by the above groups, Mann said that the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ would certainly conclude with a victory in chalking out strategies to tackle current challenges that have been prevailing in the panth, especially in the last few weeks.

Elaborating on the mass support being extended by Sikh bodies of Punjab & abroad, he said that the current venue for ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ was chosen only after a denial by SGPC to hold it in Harmandar Sahib, so the SGPC doesn’t deserve any right to object over the institution of ‘Sarbat Khalsa’.

Lashing out at Badal for creating an volatile environment across Punjab by demanding paramilitary forces, Mann added that Badal did so to scupper the event after sensing its impact.

Bhai Mohkam Singh said that their objective during ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ would be to deliberate upon challenges facing the Sikh panth, not on individuals or groups. He rejected Giani Gurbachan Singh’s argument that ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ outside Sri Akal Takht Sahib holds no legal sanctity and said that during the Mughal emperor, Sikhs even hold ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ in jungles at the call of common Sikhs.

Meanwhile, an Akhand Path Sahib has been commenced at the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ venue, which completes on November 10, when the gathering commences.
