NAKODAR, Punjab—Granthi Bhai Bhupinder Singh of Gurdwara Sahib Village Mallian Khurd in Nakodar province successfully stopped an attempt to desecrate Sri Guru Granth Sahib at 2:45 am of November 7.
Talking with Sikh24, Granthi Bhupinder Singh informed that three miscreants wearing black masks entered the main hall of Gurdwara Sahib in the dawn of November 7. As soon as he noticed the disturbance, he sent his wife to gather villagers and went himself to stop them from ransacking of keys to the Sukhasan room.
Bhai Bhupinder Singh added that as soon as he switched on the light, the trio tried jumped onto him and demanded the keys of the Sukhasan room. In process, Bhai Bhupinder Singh was injured with sharp edged weapons. His life was saved as villagers arrived at the Gurdwara Sahib shortly after and brought the trio under control.
An FIR under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 295 and 295-A of Indian Penal Code has been registered against unidentified miscreants in Nakodar police station.
