FARIDKOT, Punjab—In what some Sikhs have described as a politically motivated gesture, Senior Vice President of the All India Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi, has reached Punjab to extend his condolences to the deceased families of the Bargari incident.
He is understood to be meeting families of Bhai Gurjit Singh in village Sarawan and Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh in village Behbal Klan, the two who were in gun-fire opened by the Punjab police whilst peacefully protesting.
Rahul Gandhi will conduct a ‘Pedal March’ from village Sarawan to village Behbal Khurd and will inquire about the Police’s atrocities from village residents.
