Akal Takht Sahib Punj Piare Recommend Suspension of Appointed Jathadars

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Earlier today, as Giani Gurbachan Singh and other appointed Jathedars failed to appear at Akal Takht Sahib, the Akal Takht Sahib Punj Piare have recommended their suspension.  The appointed Takht Jathedars were given deadline to appear at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on October 23.

On October 21, the Akal Takht Sahib Punj Piare had issued summons to the appointed Jathedars, namely Giani Gurbachan Singh (Akal Takht Sahib), Giani Iqbal Singh (Patna Sahib), Giani Gurmukh Singh (Damdama Sahib), Giani Mall Singh (Kesgarh Sahib) and Giani Ram Singh (Sri Darbar Sahib Granthi).  Due to the fact that these Jathedars failed to appear at Akal Takht Sahib, their suspension has been recommend to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

After giving their recommendation to the SGPC, the Punj Piare were interviewed by the press who were present at Sri Akal Takht Sahib –

Q: What do you have to say about your suspension by the SGPC?

A: When the Singhs are not at Akal Takht Sahib as Punj Piare, they may be known as Satnam Singh, etc., however when Punj Singhs get together at Akal Takht Sahib, no one has the authority to suspend them.  SGPC is not higher than the Punj Piare.

Q: Can the Akal Takht Sahib Punj Piare Call Sarbat Khalsa?

A: Due to the fact that the appointed Jathedars failed to appear at Akal Takht Sahib to explain their stance, the Panth is free to decision on its own [regarding Sarbat Khalsa].

Punj Piare further said that the way Giani Gurbachan Singh was treated at Manji Hall, the Panth does not need them.

Q: Are you willing to lead the Panth, ie. as Takht Jathedars

A: The Panth should decide collectively who shall be declared as the Jathedars.

  1. Some Smart and Knowledgeable Sikh fellow got to find a right equation for the relation between these Six Sikh variables :–

    1) Sikh People — “x”
    2) Akal Takth — –“y”
    3) Akali Dal —— ‘z”
    4) SGPC ———–“a”
    5) Panj Payaras —“b”
    6) SGPC head —–“c”

My suggestion of the order of precedence should be

    “x—-y—z—a—b—c”

This will then Prevent confusion like these from ensuing.

    Sikh24 editor,
The Panj Pyare did not give a “recommendation”, they ordered the jathedars to be removed.
