Sant Samaj Hands Over Memorandum to Governor of Punjab

MOHALI, Punjab—Amid a tense atmosphere in Punjab, following the incidents of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Sant Samaj have held a meeting at Badmajra Blaungi with Sant Baba Lakhbir Singh Ratwada chairing. Addressing the gathering, prominent Saints argued that the serial desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib has deeply hurt Sikh masses and the Sikh wrath might could cause the collapse of the Akali government.

Lashing out at the Akali government, they said that protesting against the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is democratic right of every Sikh, but by opening gun-fire on protesting Sikhs, the police have made it clear that Sikhs are enslaved in this country. They sought strict legitimate action against the responsible police contingents under section 302 of IPC.

The organisation of Saints then departed to handover the memorandum to the Governor of Punjab.

They asserted that the memorandum is being submitted as the Sant Samaj is spearheading the statewide sit-in-protests against the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
