:dateline:SGPC general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur today resigned from all posts of the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). �He�submitted his resignation as a protest against desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and killing of Sikh youth by the Punjab Police.
Sukhdev Singh Bhaur was a close aide of late Gurcharan Singh Tohra, former�president of the SGPC. �After Tohra’s demise, SAD (B) pattern and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal never allowed him�to play a leading role in the party. Although, Bhaur was a member of the political affairs committee of SAD (B), the post is worthless practically as all the members of the this committee have no right to effect party�s decision.
He has sent his resignation to the party president, Sukhbir Badal.
In his petition, he has mentioned clearly that his resignation is�due to the sacrilege of Guru Granth sahib and the inaction of Government in this regard.
