Following the transfer of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar and Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khaira to Amritsar jail, the BJP government seems helpless to continue detaining political Sikh prisoners. International pressure on Indian government has compelled it to release Bhai Waryam Singh, a political Sikh prisoner behind bars since 1990 in Bareli jail of Uttar Pradesh.
It is noteworthy that Bapu Surat Singh Ji Khalsa has been on hunger strike since January 16 for the release of political Sikh prisoners languishing in jails of India despite serving their mandatory terms of sentences.
