Mann welcomes unification of SAD (Panch Pardhani), Dal Khalsa

FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—Pro-freedom Sikh political party Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann has welcomed unification of Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) and Dal Khalsa.

In a statement issued here, the former Member of Parliament said that unification of the major Sikh groups for achieving goal self-determination is good signal for Sikhs across the world. He said it is need of hour and would bear good results.

He lauded SAD (PP) leader Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu and Dal Khalsa leader Bhai Gajinder Singh for taking the step in interests of Panth.

It is worth mentioning that Dal Khalsa is active since 1978 for getting right to self-determination of Sikhs. He is considered as major pressure group of Sikhs and work peacefully.

On the other hand, SAD (PP) was formed in 2008 by Sikh freedom fighter Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu who fought armed struggle for Sikh freedom and led Sikh Students Federation (SSF) in nineties. Bhai Bittu made big contribution in mobilizing Sikh youths in educational institutes by re-organizing the SSF in 2001.

Both the groups have been working on intellectual levels alongside political levels too.
