Over 1000 Initiate into Sikh Faith as SGPC Holds Amrit Sanchaars Throughout Punjab

Amrit-Sanchaar-Baata:dateline:As per a statement by the Dharam Parchaar department of the SGPC, over 1000 recently partook in �Amrit Sanchaars’ (Sikh initiation ceremony)�throughout Punjab in programs organized by the apex Sikh body. �The SGPC had organized programs to do parchar at over 12 Gurdwaras throughout Punjab.

In a press note shared with Sikh24, it has been stated that SGPC will continue such work in the coming months as it attempts to reach Gurdwaras where amrit sanchaars are not taking place on a regular basis. �It is noteworthy that 1121 total�took amrit in the recent days, and this number does not include the count from SGPC operated historical Gurdwaras that hold amrit sanchaar on a weekly basis.

The list of Gurudwaras where�amrit sanchaars were�held is as below –

  1. Gurudwara Patshahi Shevin, Samana
  2. Gurudwara Akalgarh Sahib, Banur
  3. Gurudwara Pind Rani Majra, Dera Bassi
  4. Gurudwara Gurusar Sahib Saiflabad (Kapurthala)
  5. Gurudwara Baler Sahib, Baler Khanpur (Kapurthala)
  6. Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Boparai Kalan (Jalandhar)
  7. Gurudwara Dera Baba Harji Khukhrain (Kapurthala)
  8. Gurudwara Guru Ka Bagh, Ghukewali
  9. Sri Damdama Sahib, Salana (Fatehgarh Sahib)
  10. Gurudwara Barila Khurd (Gurdaspur)
  11. Gurudwara Antor Narot Jaimal Singh
  12. Akal Academy, Tibbar
  13. Gurudwara Sangatpura, Chakk Mukand

SGPC Chief Secretary S. Harcharan Singh informed that during the amrit sanchaar programs,�Giani Gurbachan Singh, Giani Mall Singh, Giani Iqbal Singh, S. Nirmail Singh Johlan, Jathedar Jarnail Singh Dogranwala, Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Wadala, S. Amrik Singh Vishoa, S. Jodh Singh Samra, S. Ravinder Singh Khalsa, S. Kuldeep Singh, S. Nirmal Singh Hariao, Bibi Swarn Kaur Teda, Jathedar Rattan Singh Zaffarwal and others inspired the Sikh devotees to spend their lives according to Sikh Maryada.
