AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Sikh sangat observed the 20th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh at Sri Akal Takht Sahib where hundreds of Sikh devotees paid homage to him for his sacrifice. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said that following the path enlightened by martyrs is our duty and we should unite on a common platform for the chardi kala of the Sikh Panth.
Jathedar Baldev Singh of Akhand Kirtani Jatha conveyed the message of Jathedar Wadhawa Singh Babbar and Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara to Sikh sangat. The speakers also raised a voice for the release of political Sikh prisoners and the termination of the black list to avail a hassle free visit to Punjab for the Sikh diaspora. The Sikh sangat present there urged SGPC authorities to install a portrait of Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh Babbar in the Central Sikh Museum.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh honoured the family members of Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh Babbar with Siropao. Messages of Bhai Joga Singh U.K, Bhai Balbir Singh, Bhai Rajinder Singh Purewal, Bhai Balwinder Singh Nanua etc. were also read the evening.
