Story of Sikh Homeless Man in London Goes Viral

2015-01-08- malkit singhLONDON, UK—A Facebook status concerning a homeless Sikh man named Manjit Singh has gone viral, having been shared up to 2,396 times since it was posted yesterday.

The post, written by Sikh organisation Kalgidhar Trust, claims that Manjit Singh had lost his Portugal passport and has consequently been homeless for 2-3 years. As a plea for help, Manjit Singh – who hopes to go to India – had allegedly been sleeping outside of the Indian Embassy since last month, until he was escorted to the nearest Gurdwara in Hounslow by a concerned man.

Manjit’s brother, Indian police officer Malkit Singh, has since been located, and it appears that attempts are being made to facilitate his safe return home.
