

:dateline:Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has continued his hunger strike at the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana. �He has been on hunger strike since January 16, and is currently on the 186th day of his hunger strike. �The 82 year old elderly Sikh has also stopped the intake of water. �He had earlier warned the Punjab Government that if he was forcefully arrested, he would stop drinking water.
Punjab Police stormed his residence yesterday, arresting over a dozen of his supporters. �He was later taken to the hospital where doctors continued to monitor his situation.
Bapu Ji is�no longer able to speak properly and his body is extremely fragile. �He has also refused to take any treatment.
A number of noted personalities paid visits to him at the hospital. �Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal, Bhai Amarjeet Singh Maryada and Sant Daler Singh had to go through extensive security to meet with Bapu Ji. �Presence of various police officers, Government officials and press reporters was noticed throughout the day yesterday.
