:dateline:Breaking silence over the issue of release of Sikh political prisoners, Sri Akal Takht Sahib appointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has condemned the brutality shown by the Police by going for lathicharge against Sikhs present at the home of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa in village Hassanpur. On Tuesday, he issued press statement to clear his stand on the incident.
�Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa had taken the decision of hunger strike in compelling situation. �In view of his deteriorated health condition, his precious life needed to be saved at every cost. �However, the police action�in Hassanpur is highly condemnable,� he�stated.
He said, �Sikhs sat in Bapu Surat Singh�s home peacefully and the Police gave proof of their mercilessness by committing atrocities against them, while Parkash Singh Badal is taking legal measures to ensure release of Sikh prisoners. Since it is legal issue, suggestions should be taken from legal experts.�
He asked the state government to negotiate with union government over the issue and ensure the release of Sikh prisoners. He added that the Sikhs who were arrested during the Police action should be released with immediate effect so that peaceful environment could not be hit.
Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji – why nothing is done to save Bapu Ji – you have the authority to go there now and release him from hospital into his home.
Unfortunately, he can’t and won’t do anything. He doesn’t care about Bapu Surat Singh Ji or Sikhs or Sikhism.
He is an impotent figurehead actually working against the Panth in every possible way, just like all of Badal Dal and SGPC.
Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji, please get Bapu is released from hospital to home – we are so hurt!
