Italian Sikhs Protest against Indian Government in Milan

:dateline:To extend support to the struggle initiated by Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa for the release of political Sikh prisoners, Italy Sikh Council staged a protest against Indian government by holding a mega protest march. Sikh sangat from all over Italy took part in this protest march. �

President of Italy Sikh Council S. Jasbir Singh Toor demanded immediate release of all the political Sikh prisoners who have fulfilled their mandatory terms of imprisonment. He said that the illegal detention of political Sikh prisoners in Indian jails depicts the fanatic attitude of Indian Government.

Protests by Sikh Sangat have continued against Indian and Punjab Government in different parts of the world. �Sikhs have protested against Akali delegations in US and Canada. �Similarly, UK Sikhs have also held similar events on a large scale seeking attention of International bodies towards human rights issues in Punjab.

Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is an 82 year old human rights activist who has been on hunger strike since January 16 to seek equal treatment for Sikh political prisoners. �He was arrested for the third time yesterday by the police.
