Martyrdom of Shaheed General Labh Singh Panjwarh Observed

General-LAABh-Singh-shaheedi-1024x821TARN TARAN, Punjab—Martyrdom day of Shaheed General Labh Singh Panjwarh alias Sukhdev Singh who was chief of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF), was observed at Gurdwara Shaheed Singhan of village Panjwarh. Sikh Sangat and Panthik leaders paid warm tribute to him.

General Panjwarh attained martyrdom in 1988 while fighting against Indian troops. The KCF was considered a major Sikh armed force at that time.

To mark the martyrdom, Sri Akhand Path Sahib was done and its Bhog ceremony was performed on Sunday morning, following which religious function was organized. During the function, Ragi, Dhadi and Kawishari Jathas made Sikh Sangat aware of the history of martyrdoms of Sikhs.

United Akali Dal leader Bhai Mohkam Singh, Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) leaders Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, Baldev Singh Sirsa, Khalra Mission Committee Chairman Balwinder Singh Chabal, spokesperson Advoate Surinder Singh Gharyala, Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala etc. addressed the function and paid homage to the hero of Sikh freedom struggle initiated by Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

On the occasion, Bhai Labh Singh’s wife Bibi Devinder Kaur and kin of other Sikh martyrs were honoured. Dal Khalsa leader Bhai Sarbjit Singh Ghuman, Daljit Singh Panjwarh, Satnam Singh Amishah, Arjiv Singh, Mukhtar Singh, Bhai Kammikar Singh Mukandpur, Baba Swaran Singh Chabal, Bhai Jasbir Singh Khandur, Bhai Suvinder Singh were among those who attended the function.
