Vancouver RCMP Officer Shocked Over ” Disney Look” Policy

2015-07-08_disney:dateline:The first turbaned Sikh in the RCMP is speaking out after a man working at Disney World has only now won his right to wear his head covering.

Postman Gurdit Singh says he had been segregated at the park and his delivery routes were restricted so visitors wouldnt see him.

Disney World says the man will now be granted religious accommodation from the companys strict grooming guidelines known as The Disney Look.

Its been 25 years since Surreys Baltej Dhillon has been able to wear his turban as an RCMP officer and hes disappointed.

Im a bit shocked that were still having this conversation given all of the advances we have made in really learning to accept, not tolerate, each other, he explains. If we can do anything out of this, its that we allow ourselves to grow as a community, as people as a human raceweve got to get past some of these things that are holding us back.

It looks like hes just a man who is out to earn an honest living and maintain his commitment to his way of life and religious requirements.
