:dateline:Sikh Youth Front today observed 26th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Darshan Singh Takhanwadh with assistance of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala (Amritsar), Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Club (Takhanwadh) and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) at village Takhanwadh.
Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was held�in memory of Shaheed Bhai Darshan Singh Takhanwadh. Prominent Sikh bodies reached village Takhanwadh to pay homage to the martyrs. More than 25 families of martyred Singhs were honored with mementos of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale and Siropao on this occasion. S. Papalpreet Singh acted as Stage Secretary during the program.
Captain Harcharan Singh Rode (elder brother of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale) said on this occasion that unity of Sikh organizations on a common platform was�the need of hour. He appealed the whole Sikh nation to come forward in support of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa�s struggle to ensure the release of Sikh detainees who have already served their mandatory terms of life imprisonment.
General Secretary of Shromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) S. Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala stated that martyrs like Bhai Darshan Singh Takhanwadh sacrificed their lives for the establishment of Khalistan. “Pursuing efforts for establishing Sikh Sovereign State will be a true tribute to our martyrs,” he added. �
SGPC member S. Kulbir Singh Barapind appealed the Sikh youth to follow path enlightened by martyrs. Expressing deep concern over Drug addiction in young generation, he said that planning strategy to overcome these evils is the need of hour.
President of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala (Amritsar) Dr. Gurjinder Singh stated that by ignoring the Sikh issues time to time, Parkash Singh Badal has proved his anti-Sikh approach. He said that during the peak time of Sikh struggle, Badal used to attend the Shaheedi Samagams of Sikh activists, but now he labels them as �terrorists�.
Sikh Youth Front�s General Secretary S. Papalpreet Singh said his�organization is committed to achieve goal of Khalistan. He invited all the Sikh organizations to join their efforts to mark martyrdom anniversaries of Sikh freedom fighters to aware the next generation about Sikh struggle.
Hundreds of Sikh devotees from all over Punjab attended this martyrdom anniversary. S. Harpal Singh Kussa, Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj, Bhai Pritam Singh, Bhai Amarjit Singh, Bhai Rajbir Singh, Bhai Shamsher Singh Daangiaan, S. Rajinder Singh Kotla, S. Navdeep Singh Dhoorkot etc. were the prominent among the present leaders.
