:dateline:In a press statement, Arvind Kejriwal has stated the Delhi government has decided to reserve Rs. 10 crore from its own particular spending plan to pay compensation to the Sikh widows of 1984 anti-Sikh genocide. Kejriwal stated that he has informed the office of the Union Home Minister regarding the compensation, alleging that the Centre Government had failed to upkeep its promises regarding compensation to the Sikh widows.

In a written letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Arvind Kejriwal stated that he was taking this choice on the grounds that the Centre had not yet conceded the pay of Rs. 5 lakh each to the groups of Sikhs executed in the genocide.

Kejriwal stated that the 1984 victimized people have been subjected to regulatory disregard for over three decades. In November 1984, Government sponsored mobs carefully identified and killed Sikh men and women, while destroying their properties. The carnage was gruesome in areas such as the Tilak Nagar, which now has an establishment of Sikh widows, known as the Widow Colony.

Earlier, Jarnail Singh MLA from Rajouri Garden took up this matter in the Assembly and demanded a plan to help compensate Sikh genocide victims.
