NEW DELHI—During a court appearance in Delhi, Bhai Kulwinder Singh Khanpur stated that it was disgraceful for the Sikhs to remain quiet over the struggle of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa.  He stated that Bapu Ji was nearing the conclusion of his struggle, but the Sikh Nation so far has not expressed support.

Bhai Kulwinder Singh appeared in the Court of Session Judge Sri Ritish Singh today.  Testimonies which were scheduled for recording did not take place due to a strike by lawyers.

After the hearing, Bhai Khanapur said that the state of our nation is very unfortunate.  “Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has been sitting on hunger strike for 111 days, but the Sikhs have not contributed morally to his struggle,” he said.  “Bapu Ji is going to organize a grand scale program on May 10 in Hassanpur,” he added.

Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is seeking release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their terms but are still languishing in jails across Punjab and India.

Next hearing in his case is scheduled to take place on July 16 and 17.
