Relics of Guru Gobind Singh Ji will be opened for glimpse of Sikh Devotees from May 6

Patiala, Punjab— Relics of Guru Gobind Singh Ji will be made available from May 6 for Sikh devotees to view. These relics were with descendants of Patiala and Nabha Riasat until now. These relics were brought from Qila Mubarak to Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niawaran Sahib with full discipline and under surveillance of experts. The relics will be brought to every part of Punjab in the form of a Nagar Kirtan. President of SGPC S. Avtar Singh Makkar informed the Sangat about this through a press conference. S. Makkar was here to look after the process of moving these sacred relics from Qila Mubarak to Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib. On the behalf of Punjab Government,  Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema handed over these relics to SGPC President S. Avtar Singh Makkar. SGPC placed these relics under surveillance of CCTV cameras and appointed special task force to take care of them.

Additional Secretary of SGPC S. Parmjit Singh Saroa informed that these relics will be placed permanently at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib on May 20. Talking about the other relics of Guru Sahib in Qila Mubarak of Patiala, S. Makkar said that we will request the concerned department to take care of them; otherwise SGPC will ask them to handover them too. S. Makkar also mentioned that these sacred relics will be shown all over Punjab in a Nagar Kirtan in which Chief Minister Parkash Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal will also participate.

 

Cabinet Minister S. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sri Varun Rujm, Director of Tourism and Heritage Board of Punjab S. Navjotpal Singh Randhawa, Secretary Avtar Singh of SGPC, Bhagwant Singh (Manager, Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib), Karam Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Manpreet Singh Xeon, Gurmeet Singh Chauhan (SSP Patiala) and other delegates were present on this occasion.
