Updates from Nepal Earthquake Relief by Coalition of Sikh Organizations

KATHMANDU, Nepal—In recent days, a team of coalition of Sikh Organizations traveled out of the capital city of Kathmandu, to distribute Langar among the people affected by last week’s disastrous earthquake.

Guru Nanak’s concept of Langar, a free kitchen for all people regardless of religion, caste, colour, creed or gender, was a revolutionary move in the caste-ordered society of 16th century India. Langar expresses the ethics of sharing, community, inclusiveness and oneness of all humankind.

The queue of people receiving a free hot meal courtesy of Guru Nanak, was never-ending throughout the day! Please remember to donate as much as you can at www.justgiving.com/SRNepalaid. It is the duty of all Sikhs to help those that require it, please give generously.
