Sikhs Join Christians To Protest Growing Attacks Against Minorities in India

AGRA, India—Coming together to raise a strong voice against growing attacks against minorities in India, Christian, Muslim and Sikhs launched a joint protest yesterday in Lucknow.

These minority groups protested against recent vandalisation of St Mary’s church in Agra.  All Christian Missionary schools of Lucknow along with 10 other cities of the State remain closed as part of the protest.

A few chapels, including Methodist Church, Church of North India, Roman Catholic Church and Assembly of God Church and individuals from the group — whether Catholic or Protestant — dissented next to each other. Later, they were also joined by activists from the Muslim and Sikh groups.
Rajender Singh Dua, Uttar Pradesh Sikh Pratinidhi Mandal president said, “Christians are peace adoring individuals and the late assaults are extremely shocking.” He was amongst the protesters who joined Christian leaders against the attack on St Mary’s church.
