KAPURTHALA, Punjab—Under sections 307, 323, 382, 365, 342, 295A, 506, 148 and 149, Punjab Police has registered cases against members of Satkar Committee (regd.) near Lohian Khas for thrashing Pathis in village Sidhupur (District Jalandhar). Those who are being held guilty for the incident includ Satkar Committee head Bhai Sukhjit Singh Khosa, Bhai Tarlochan Singh and Gurbhajan Singh. Some other persons are still being identified.
Police has constituted different teams to arrest the members of Satkar Committee responsible for thrashing pathis. As per sources, SP (D) Kapurthala Jagjit Singh Saroa held meeting with SDM Sultanpur Lodhi Devinder Singh, SHO Sultanpur Lodhi Charanjit Singh, SGO Talwandi Chaudhrian Narinder Kumar to discussed about the whole matter.
Talking to media persons, Saroa said that alleged accused would be caught soon and Police had made tight security arrangements in view of sensitivity of the matter. Kapurthala SSP Ashish Chowdry is reportedly having information about the developments.
