New Delhi— Activists of Shiromani Akali Dal(Delhi) protested against movie ‘Nanak Shah fakir’ on April 17. The activists visited Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking ban on the movie, but the he said that banning movies is not in his jurisdiction. Understanding the sensitivity of the issue, the chief minister written to the Lieutenant Governor of the state requesting him to ban the movie as soon as possible. Watching no response from Lieutenant Governor, the activists of SAD (Delhi) protested against him outside his office.
To fail the publishing of controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ the protesters in the leadership of General Secretary Harwinder Singh Sarna demands for ban on the movie for violating the sikh tenets.
A five member delegation also submitted a memorandum to Lieutenant Governor to demonstrate him that how the movie is violating the sikh tenets. Lieutenant Governor promised to ban the movie till evening.

I am a Sikh and I do not see why this movie needs to be banned. Fortunately he matter why any movies should be banned … Are we saying that as society now we are becoming so vulnerable tht we get swayed or influenced by what is in the cinema . This movie is made with a massage for mankind .. What is wrong with that .. ?Are we as society becoming ever so narrow mind or shall I say border lining mindless that we cannot appreciate art and are not able to appreciate efforts made by individuals in spreading a good message via cinema .
As a Sikh and following teachings of Guru nanak … I urge everyone to look at the fundamentals of what he tried to teach us … We do not need to defend what is Devine for the devine does need us mortals to defend it …
