BREAKING: Punjab Govt Postpones Screening of Movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ for Two Months

Nanak Shah Fakir: Listen to what this Sikh Has to Say About the Movie:dateline:The Punjab government today postponed screening of controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ for two months. The government has taken this step bending before world wide protests being staged by Sikh community against the Hindi movie which has depicted Guru Nanak Sahib, his sister Bebe Nanaki and Bhai Mardana as personified characters.

The Sikhs have termed the film as a grave blasphemy. �Thus, the film hurt Sikh sentiments and they are demanding a ban with immediate effect. Various Sikh organizations have launched agitations against the film on a large scale. Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Delhi Gurdwara Managament Committee and others have demanded ban on the film. �A petition was also filed with the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Various Sikh circles has welcomed the move, but demanded complete ban on the film.
