Sikh Prisoners Issue: Hundreds Take Part in 2nd Bathinda March But Police Interfaces and Stops Protesters

:dateline:The second protest march for the release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their sentences was held yesterday in Bathinda. �Hundreds of Sikhs, along with a number of Panthik organization jointly carried out the march. �

Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal and Gurdeep Singh Bathinda led the march to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

March�was stopped midway however; when the police intervened and only allowed 15 members of the Sangharsh Committee to proceed forward. �At the Deputy Commissioner’s office, police further tried to interfere and stated that only 5 persons were allowed to submit the memorandum.

Sikh protesters however refused to comply with the police and tore the memorandum in front of the DC’s office.

A number of protest marches have been held in favour of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa since his illegal arrest last month.
