Former Australian Football Player Arrested Outside Sikh Gurdwara in Perth

PERTH, Australia—Ben Cousins, a former AFL player was arrested earlier today outside the Canning Vale Sikh Gurdwara in Perth.  Jasvinder Singh, the Gurdwara Granthi described Ben in “unstable condition”.

“He was taking random pictures of the building,” said the Gurdwara Granthi (priest).  Jasvinder Singh confronted Ben, after which he drove a few meters but continued to take pictures from his car.

Witnesses also reported his unusual behavior to the police.  The described Ben as behaving oddly in his car.

Cousins was caught a few streets away by the police after a chase.

Ben was later taken to a nearby hospital for a health assessment.

Some local Sikhs have raised concerns over the incident.  Just two years ago, a White supremacist opened fire in a Gurdwara in USA, killing 6 people.
