NEW DELHI—Senior advocate S. HS Phoolka expressed his disappointment over the CBI’s move to file a closure report in the case of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.  This is the third time that the CBI has filed closure report in the case relating to Tytler’s involvement in 1984 anti-Sikh pogroms.

HS Phoolka has stated that he would file a petition against CBI’s “secret” move to clear Jagdish Tytler.  He called this unfortunate that the CBI was trying to save Tytler, rather than trying to resolve the case.

CBI had apparently filed the closure report on December 24, 2014.  HS Phoolka said that there has been a court hearing since CBI secretly filed the closure report.  He asked why was such an important detail not disclosed.

HS Phoolka disclosed that the court still has not accepted the clean chit and there is time to protest against CBI’s move.  He express fury over the fact that the Akali and the BJP both knew about the clean chit but kept quiet on the matter as well.

Phoolka said that everything was done so secretly and even the complainant was not informed.
