Badal: Don’t talk about drugs in Punjab, talk about something that will benefit the country

AMRITSAR SAHIB—”Don’t talk about drugs in Punjab, talk about something that will benefit the country” – This was the statement that Punjab Chief Minister made in presence of BJP’s Rajnath Singh during a press conference organized at the Attari Check Point.

Rajnath Singh was asked by reporters that the Punjab Chief Minister often states that India’s Border Security Force was the main reason behind the drug menace in Punjab.  Punjab Chief Minister had earlier also planned a “Jagrukta Rally” against the Border Security Force on the issue of drugs.

Along with Badal, Rajnath Singh also avoided the question on drugs, posing hint that Akali Dal and BJP might be in a collation for the drug trade in Punjab.  Responding the question, Rajnath Singh merely stated that, “Aisa Nahi Hai (this is not true).”

By avoiding the question, Badal has clearly taken a U turn on the issue of drugs, leaving his earlier morcha against BSF completely impractical.
