Jathedar Nandgarh’s Removal – SGPC Receives Notice from the High Court

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Through legal aides of former Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Gani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, notice of Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding appointment letter was served to Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

In the notice, High Court directed the SGPC to provide appointment letter to Giani Nandgarh who served as Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib for around 13 years. He was removed by SGPC allegedly for taking firm stand in favour of original Nanakshahi Calendar and other Panthik issues going against anti-Sikh policies of SGPC as well as Akali Dal (Badal).

Nandgarh’s aide Parminderpal Singh Randhawa met SGPC secretary Manjeet Singh in this regard. The SGPC officials said they would follow the court orders. Randhawa said that SGPC official have assured to provide appointment letter to the former Jathedar with 3-4 days.
