Sikh Woman Found Dead in California; Police Investigating As Homicide

2013-03-13-hateOAKLAND, California, USA—Randhir Kaur, a 37 year old woman of Punjabi origin, was found dead in her apartment in Albany, California, on March 9.  Randhir Kaur was a dental student at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).

No arrests have been made so far in regards to this case.  An autopsy is pending to determine the cause of her death.

Albany Police has labelled this a homicide and released the following statement –

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday March 9, 2015 Albany Police responded to a residential apartment located in the 1000 block of Kains Avenue on a report of an unconscious woman. Officers found the victim, a 37-year-old Albany resident, lying on the floor of her apartment. Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased.

Detectives are investigating this matter as a homicide; however, the Alameda County Coroner’s Office will be responsible for determining the official cause of death. Police have not made any arrests at the time of this press release.

The victim’s name and manner of death are currently being withheld and Investigators are not currently available for interview as this is an ongoing investigation. More information, if available, will be released at a later time.
