

:dateline:In the case of Advocate H.S. Phoolka vs. Jagdish Tytler which was listed before the Court of Gaurav Rao, ACMM, Patiala House, New Delhi, charges were framed against Tytler under section 499/500 IPC for the defamatory statements made by him against H.S.Phoolka during the live telecast of a program titled �Khabro-ki-khabar� and �X-Factor� on NDTV channel.
Kamna Vohra Advocate, appearing on behalf of Phoolka argued the case on the basis of evidence on record that charges should be framed against Jagdish Tytler and he should face the trial. Tytler pleaded not guilty to the charges and claimed trial. The Court has now listed the case on 2nd May 2015 for prosecution evidence.



This complaint case was filed by Phoolka in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ludhiana, which had issued warrants against Tytler. Tytler approached Supreme Court for transfer of case claiming that he cannot go to Ludhiana due to threat to his life. The Supreme Court had transferred the case to Delhi.
It is worth mentioning that Tytler is a senior leader of Congress and killer of Sikhs. He is one of the top accused of Sikh genocide of November 1984.
