:dateline:Damdami Taksal (Ajnala) chief Bhai Amrik Singh and his aides who were detained by Police for foiling bid of burning Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s effigy, were released on bail on Saturday.
It is worth mentioning that on Friday, the Shiv Sena activists had tried to burn effigy of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale near Hall gate locality. After being informed of this incident, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala along with his aides arrived on the spot and they did not allow the Hindu fanatics to carry on with the plans.
Panthik organizations had submitted the bail papers on Friday evening, but due to passiveness of Police department, the papers could not reach jail authorities. Following the steps taken by Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) leader Baldev Singh Sirsa, Bhai Dilbag Singh Nagoke and other Singhs, the Sikh detainees were released.
After being released, the Damdami Taksal leaders were welcomed and honoured with siropas.
