:dateline:The Indian Government today organized a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the Sikh genocide of November, 1984. Reliable sources said that theHome Ministry ordered to launch the special investigation team to investigate the incidents of the Delhi Sikh genocide.
The Home Ministry has ordered to organize a SIT on the recommendation of a special committee led by Justice G.P Mathur (Former Justice of Supreme Court). This committee was organized to seek the need to organize the Special Investigation Team to investigate the Sikh genocide of November, 1984. It is notable that this committee submitted the report to the Home Ministry last month, in which the committee recommended the need for organizing a Special Investigation Team.
Responsibilities of S.I.T members:
- Chief of Special Investigation Team Sri Parmod Asthana will supervise the daily investigation work of the team.
- Justice Rakesh Kapoor (S.I.T member) will take care of those cases in court that werent handled further.
- Third member of Investigation Team Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sri Kumar Ganesh will investigate the FIRs that werent handled further.
Working Area of Special Investigation Team:
S.I.T will re-investigate about all the criminal cases related to the Sikh genocide of 1984
- All the records of police stations of those areas where innocent Sikhs were massacred by the Hindu mobs will be re-investigated again.
- Information gathered by the committee Justice S. D Jain and Justice D. K Aggarwal will also be investigated.
- S.I.T will take necessary legal steps to deeply investigate the incidents of the Sikh genocide of November, 1984 and will file a charge sheet in Court on the basis of collected evidences.
It is noteworthy that after the assassination of former Prime Minister of India, Indra Gandhi, the Sikh genocide commenced across India in which 3325 innocent Sikhs were killed by fanatic Hindu mobs. 2733 Sikhs out of 3325 were killed only in Delhi and the rest were killed in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states.
Investigation should be time bound
Indian justice system has no integrity, government doesn’t care about Sikh lives.
Just another delay tactic, it’s been 30+ years and still the guilty roam free.
Justice only exists in India if you’re an extremely rich and well-connected Hindu.
Politicians are immune to prosecution.
As has already been proved time and again via the many commissions that have already looked at this without any resolve, India is incapable of investigating this, it needs to be done by an independent international organisation if there is to be any justice.
