

:dateline:Leaving major embarrassment for Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), its senior leader & former minister Sucha Langah was sentenced today to three years imprisonment and fined Rs.1 crore in a graft case by a court in Mohali.
The case of disproportionate assets was registered against him in 2002. The Punjab vigilance department had filed the case.
Langah has enjoyed the post of public works department (PWD) minister in the SAD-BJP government from 1997 to 2002. He was also the Agriculture Minister in Badal Government between 2007 and 2012. He lost the election in the 2012 Punjab assembly polls.
