:dateline:All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) appealed Akal Takht to issue directions to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to break ties with the BJP.
In a press release the AISSF president Karnail Singh Peermohammad said that the supreme council of the federation are in communication with Akal Tkhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, and have urged him to issue directions to the SGPC and the SAD to break its ties with communal forces like BJP supported by RSS.
Peermohammed drew the attention of Akal Takht Jathedar towards a statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat published in newspapers today in which Bhagwat has stated that India is a Hindu Rashtra.�Peermohammad said that it was a dangerous trend and that the RSS was flaring communal passions by giving a clear call to Hindus to achieve the goal of Hindu Rashtra.
AISSF has called upon various Sikh organizations to unite and face the challenge of RSS in view of the challenge posed by communal forces to the Sikh identity.
