Police brought him secretly in court, and he was taken to an unidentified place from the back door immediately after the remand was granted. �Police had demanded a�7-day police remand, but Bhai Tara�s lawyers, namely advocate Harpal Singh Khera and Harinder Singh Aklia opposed the demand. Latter argued that Bhai Tara has not been in India for long, and various teams of Punjab Police have interrogated him�thoroughly and now there is no need of any further interrogations.
It is worth mentioning that Bathinda police had arrested Bhai Tara�s aide Bhai Ramandeep Singh Sunny on November 9, 2014. �Police had registered a case against Bhai Tara and Sunny in Kotwali Police station under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) district president Parminder Singh Balianwali alleged that without any reason the police had committed torture on Bhai Tara.
Sikhs living in various countries today also held protests outside Thailand consulate offices to raise their voice against Bhai Taru’s wrongful extradition to India. �Under UN laws, Thailand is barred from transferring prisoners to countries where they could face torture. �Human Rights organizations have stated that Bhai Tara could be falsely eliminated by the police.
