:dateline:Rejecting the police plea for extending Sikh freedom fighter Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara�s remand, Jalandhar court on Monday ordered to send him to 14-day judicial custody.
On Sunday, the police had demanded Bhai Tara�s police remand be extended for five more days in connection with a case of allegedly concealing weapons at Sriganganagar. This plea had also been turned down by the court and the�latter only permitted a day�s additional custody for interrogation.
Senior police officials of the district�did not disclose the information they got during the interrogation.
It is worth mentioning that, on January 27, the Jalandhar police (Rural) had succeeded in getting Bhai Tara�s custody for five days. He was then sent to the Ropar jail.
As per sources, the police are now planning to bring Bhai�Tara on production warrant in a case registered at Goraya police station in 2012 under the Explosives Act, Arms Act and Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act.
