It is worth mentioning that MSGMessenger of God is highly controversial film made by Gurmeet Ram Rahim, head of Sirsa based anti-Sikh cult named Dera Sacha Sauda’. With the intervention of central government, Censor Board of India had to grant clearance to the Film. Boards chairperson and 8 members have resigned from the board expressing their dissent over the decision of giving clearance to the film of the self-styled godman. Punjab government also had to ban its screening.
While talking to the media during Sangat Darshan program of Lambi assembly segment here today, Badal categorically said that the reports of intelligence agencies of both the State and Central governments had clearly said that the release of this movie could have led to serious repercussions in terms of law and order problem in the state.
He said that it was their onerous duty to sustain the hard earned peace in Punjab at every cost. We have received advisory from the Central government to ban this movie and thus the state government acted accordingly in the larger public interest added Badal.
