

:dateline:Taking a U-turn on the issue of the�release of Sikh detainees, State President of BJP Sri Kamal Sharma has opposed the release of Sikh detainees. Kamal Sharma said here in a meeting of BJP that we oppose the release of Sikh detainees and President Amit Shah has also re-enforced the point.
It is notable that BJP was favoring the hunger strike of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa till now with the�motive of grabbing Sikh votes. But after the refusal of Home Ministry�in the release of Sikh�detainees, BJP has taken a U-turn and started pronouncing Sikh detainees as �dangerous terrorists�. The same Kamal Sharma quickly visited Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa during the very first days of his hunger strike and announced to support his struggle.
In an answer to a question from press, Kamal Sharma said that recruitment campaign of BJP has raised its member count from 3.5 lakh to 9 lakh in Punjab. He said that the Akali Dal and BJP will be collaborated in Nagar Nigam and Nagar Council Elections. Replying to a question, Kamal Sharma said that the anti-drug campaign of 22nd January is of youth wing of BJP, so inviting or not inviting S. Parkash Singh Badal is their decision.
In this meeting, the BJP leadership discussed the arrangements for anti-drug campaign and the upcoming elections of Nagar Council. The leadership asked the BJP workers to get prepared for these two. Sri Vijay Sampla(Central State Minister), Cabinet Minister Sri Anil Joshi, Surjit Jiani, Madan Mohan Mittal, Sri Som Parkash, Teekshan Sood, Tarun Chugh, Rakesh Rathaur, MLA K D Bhandari, Ajay Jamwal, Ex. Minister Manoranjan Kalia etc. were present in this meeting.
