:dateline:Sikh organizations met Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh to give a memorandum for implementing the�Nanakshahi Calendar. Giani Gurbachan Singh said while talking with these Sikh organizations that he was not intimated about the release of the Nanakshahi Calendar and was also not invited in the meeting regarding the Nanakshahi Calendar.�
The issue of Nanakshahi Calendar has created division within the Sikh community. Sant Samaj and other related organizations are demanding for re-implementing the Bikrami Calendar, while the missionaries are favoring Nanakshahi Calendar. This issue will be sorted out in a meeting of Five Singh Sahibaans at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.
�It is noteworthy that the faction who favors Nanakshahi Calendar yesterday presented their view to Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh. After it, Damdami Taksal and Sant Samaj have called this meeting on 5th January to discuss such sensitive Sikh issues like Nanakshahi Calendar. Former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Jathedar Giani Jasbir Singh Rode, Baba Baljit Singh Nanaksar, Baba Sardara Singh Nanaksar, Vice President of Shiromani Akali Dal Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla, President of Sikh Students Federation (Grewal Faction) Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Giani Hardeep Singh, Bhai Sukhdeep Singh Anandpur Sahib etc. attended this meeting.
