GerakSikh secretary-general Datuk Amarjit Singh Gill, who led a delegation to submit the memorandum yesterday, said the matter should be given proper diligence.
All cases of Sikh prisoners who have not been released despite serving the minimum terms of their sentence must undergo an appropriate judicial review.
Those who have either completed their sentences or have no cases against them must be released by the Indian government, he said.
We urge Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate steps to arrest this issue.
He added that the memorandum was received by an official from the high commission, who would hand it over to Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia T.S. Tirumurti.
