Indian Government Establishes Committee to Organize SIT for Investigating the 1984 Sikh Genocide

Sikh GenocideNEW DELHI, India—Keeping the Delhi Assembly elections in view, the Indian Government has organized a committee to organize a SIT for November, 1984 Sikh Genocide.

As 2733 incidents out of 3325 belong to Delhi, so this decision of the Indian Government is appearing its need. Some suggest that the Modi Government is very eager to grab the Sikh Vote in Delhi. Modi Government has been trying to sweep Congress at any cost.

An Official from Home Ministry informed that this committee under the leadership of Justice GP will submit its report within three months. It is notable that H.S Phoolka, who is fighting the case of the Sikh Genocide, has demanded earlier from Law Minister Ravi Shankar Ayiar to organize a SIT for investigating the Sikh Genocide cases.

S. Phoolka stated that CBI has started re-investigating only four cases out of 241. CBI has submitted a chargesheet in two cases, while five culprits have been punished by court in one case.  S. Phoolka said that if re-investigation about the rest of the 237 cases starts again, more accused will be exposed. It is noteworthy that after receiving too many complaints from different organizations, Law Ministry has taken this initiative of organizing a committee.
