:dateline:Babbar Khalsa is threatening SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar for not standing up and doing anything for the well being of the Sikh community. When asked about the threat by Babbar Khalsa, Makkar said that Babbar Khalsa has threatened to eliminate him just like they killed the former chief minister of Punjab Beant Singh. He further stated that Babbar Khalsa also purported that his regimen was against the Sikh community and that he has done nothing to help the Sikh community except damage it.
The SGPC chief said he wasn’t bothered about the threats that Babbar Khalsa had made�against him as he believes in the blessing of the Almighty One. He also stated that he wasn’t interested in further enhancing his present security as his only motive was and still is to serve the Sikh community with full commitment. Makkar further stated that this wasn’t his first time being threatened by Babbar Khalsa as he has received many more threats�in the past.
Makkar said that he was the first SGPC president who did loads for the Sikh community. He further praised himslef and said that he disbursed Rs. 6.5 cror to the Sikh army soldiers who left the army in agony after Operation Blue Star operation in Golden Temple in 1984. He also said that besides all that, he has recently gave Rs. 5 lakh to the family of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana (assassin of former CM of Punjab Beant Singh) who is presently on death row, and gave Rs. 2 cror to Sikh prisoners who remained in Jodhpur prison in the past.
