:dateline:The Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh alleged Sunday that the Hindu �right-wing� organization was behind the controversial change in the �Nanakshahi Calendar� which is adopted by Sikhs around the world. The Jathedar also alleged that RSS (Rashtriya Swam Sewak Sangh) wants to cease off the independent identity of the Sikhs.
�The changes in the �Nanakshahi Calendar� were being affected on the instance and directions of RSS. RSS wants to challenge the Sikh identity by saying that Sikhs were part of the Hindu religion which is absolutely untrue and wrong. RSS has a targeted approach towards creating a breach between Sikhs,� said Jathedar Nandgarh.
Quoting BJP stalwart and former deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishan Advani’s visit to a Radha Swami�dera recently, Jathedar Nandgarh said that RSS created deras in Punjab to harm the interests of Sikhs. RSS reiterated that Sikhs would fight for the exclusion of Sikhs from Section 25-B where they are shown as Hindus.
