A minister and community leader in Bristol, Bapu Hazara Singh Sathi helped found a temple or Gurdwara in the city and was one of the oldest Sikhs living in the city before his death on Tuesday at the age of 92.
Known as Bapu Jee, he was among the first Sikhs to move to England from India in the 1940s and helped found the first Gurdwara in England, in London. He led the Bhaat community and was president of Sikh Temples across the UK.
The funeral will take place at Guru Nanak Singh Sabha Sikh Temple in Fishponds Rd, Eastville, tomorrow morning from 10am.
