Five Singh Sahibs to Provide Guidelines on Directing Sikh Movies

AMRITSAR SAHIB—The supreme council of Five Singhs will sit together to review the rules for making movies on the Sikh religion that feature historical personalities. After the review, new guidelines will be issued so that movies could be made following these new rules. After the successful release of movie Chaar Sahibzaade, the chances of new animated movies based on Sikh history have been increased. The appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Gurbachan Singh, has appreciated the animated movie Chaar Sahibzaade and asked that new movies be made focusing Sikh history.

Personal Assistant of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, S. Jaswinderpal Singh told Sikh24 that the supreme Sikh authority has already issued rules for Sikhi based movies. According to these rules, roles of Guru Sahibs can be shown in the form of “light”. He said that Chaar Sahibzaade became a milestone in preaching Sikhi worldwide. He said that hard work by team members on this movie has brought forward the holocaust of that time. He appreciated the work of producer Harry Baveja.
