:dateline:Although Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa’s health is deteriorating day by day according to his doctors, he is firm on his stand mentally. He said that he was quite conscious about the efforts being made to sabotage his struggle and would not end his hunger strike until the release of 7 Sikh political prisoners who have completed their jail terms.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa was talking to media persons last night when Hazuri Ragi and Sikh Sadbhawana Dal chief Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala and Hazuri Ragi Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Nagoke met him at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib where Bhai Khalsa is on hunger strike which has entered day 19.

Bhai Khalsa said the nation must be conscious about mischievous elements who want to sabotage the struggle. He clarified that he has done Ardas for ensuring the permanent release of 7 Singhs–Bhai Bhai Shamsher Singh, Bhai Gurmeet Singh, Bhai Lakhwinder Singh, Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera, Bhai Waryam Singh, Bhai Lal Singh Akalgarh and Prof. Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar.

He said that he asked all Sikh organizations to provide information about every Sikh political prisoner who has completed their jail term but no concrete information has been provided. He said although he had submitted a list of 101 Sikh detainees to Sri Akal Takht Sahib, forged cases are still pending in a majority of them, making their release impossible as per Indian Law. If they sought release of those prisoners, it could restrain the release of others who have completed their term with no case pending against them, he said.

Bhai Sahib said, This time I will not be misled. Last time, appointed Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee deceived me.”

Bhai Wadala said Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa’s struggle was not for his personal interests, but for the interests of the Panth, which deserved support from all Sikhs in every respect. He said if somebody slips on the way while achieving destiny, it does not mean that he has discarded the path of struggle. The struggling man fights for his cause again and again. Similarly, Bhai Khalsa again launched his agitation with sacred determination and he would continue his struggle until the Panth Ki Jeet (Victory of Panth).

He termed the statement as wrongful and baseless that the previous hunger strike did not bear fruit contending that thanks to Bhai Khalsa’s struggle, Bhai Gurmeet Singh, Bhai Lakhwinder Singh, and Bhai Shamsher Singh got parole for the first time in 19 years. Now they were released on parole a second time.
